Chimes – A Landscape in Elemental Harmony
Guided by the Spirit of the Ashta Vasus

At Chimes, developed by Raise Infra, the landscape design was envisioned as a celebration of Elemental Harmony, inspired by the Ashta Vasus—the eight elemental deities in Vedic tradition. This theme guided the overall spatial organization, planting palette, and wayfinding strategy across the development.

Each of the eight internal roads was named after one of the Ashta Vasus, with bespoke signage and planting reflecting its symbolic meaning. Every villa was paired with a dedicated fruit and flowering tree, chosen in alignment with its corresponding Vasu, creating a sense of identity and connection with nature. Custom fruit-and-flower-themed markers further reinforced this unique narrative.

A mature Shami tree, found on site, was carefully transplanted to the heart of the central open space—serving as a spiritual and visual anchor. Around this focal point, synchronized mist systems, interactive water jets, and cascading geyser fountains were installed to create an ever-changing, multi-sensory play environment for children and families from dawn till dusk.

The swimming pool was positioned to reflect the majestic tree, functioning as a serene infinity-edge water feature floating just above the wooden deck. Adjacent to it, a large musical wall—designed to mimic wind chimes and music boxes—offered a calming auditory experience, using wind and falling water to create healing soundscapes.

The open space also included a large gathering lawn framed by shaded seating, playful mounds, and an integrated children’s play area. A reflexology path with adjacent senior-friendly seating encouraged wellness across generations. Additionally, a vertically sinuous walking path was introduced to activate users’ cardio engagement, promoting holistic well-being through movement.

The landscape at Chimes was thus designed not only as a space of beauty and recreation but also as an experiential journey through elemental balance, cultural symbolism, and community wellness.
