At Code 99 in Bangalore, a multi-storey residential development, the landscape was entirely accommodated on a podium—presenting both spatial and structural challenges. A series of sports courts were integrated as key lifestyle amenities, with their arrangement carefully planned to enhance spatial legibility and encourage active living.
The 8-meter-wide fire driveway was innovatively designed to support water percolation through the strategic use of grass pavers, while also doubling as a jogging and cycling track. Shaded seating zones and tree pits—designed atop podium columns—were interspersed along the paths to offer comfort and visual relief.
Raised planters were employed throughout the podium to allow for lush, structured planting while respecting slab load constraints. The result was a functional, green, and community-friendly landscape that promotes well-being without compromising on design or engineering.
