IRA – A Landscape Inspired by Air
An Elemental Expression by Raja Housing Limited
At IRA, developed by Raja Housing Limited, the landscape was crafted with a distinct elemental identity—Air. This theme guided the overall design philosophy, from streetscapes to planting selections, creating a cohesive and experiential environment.
The concept of air was expressed through dynamic ground patterns, echoing the flow and rhythm of wind currents. Paving designs were developed to mimic these invisible movements, offering a sense of fluidity and motion throughout the pedestrian zones.
The planting palette was carefully curated to reflect natural responses to wind—feathery textures, swaying grasses, and light-canopied trees were chosen to visually interpret breeze and movement. These selections enhanced the sensory experience, allowing the landscape to feel alive and ever-changing with the wind.
Through thoughtful abstraction and thematic layering, IRA celebrates the essence of air—not only as a design motif, but as an immersive environmental quality shaping the experience of space.
